Knights of War - A game by Vedran Drazeta

Knights of War is a turn-based strategy game set in medieval England. It was influenced by simillar games like Warlords, Shogun Total War and Heroes of Might and Magic. Player can choose between eight lords to play with, each having different bonuses. The main objective of the game is to capture all England's provincies by defeating all of your enemies and therefore to unite all England under your rule. To do this, you will have to develop your economy, build structures, improve technologies, conduct diplomacy and raise strong armies. There are three AI types to choose for your computer opponents. Knight is the weakest AI type, warlord the strongest while lord is somewhere in between those two. There is also hotseat mode which allows two or more players to play on the same device by taking turns playing the game.

The game was developed in C++, using Win32 and DirectSound APIs, and compiled with Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 development environment. Sounds and loops were made using Propellerhead Reason while graphics were made in Adobe Photoshop CS3. Game development took about 10 months, during the period August 2008 to July 2009. More than third of development time was spent on Artificial Intelligence engine. Making graphics also took Author quite a while because, as a programmer, he haven't had much experience in this field and he had to do it all by himself. At the begining, the game was meant to be a variation of Risk game, but later it was upgraded with economy development and controlled combat.

Company of Heroes Online is an MMO real-time strategy computer game co-developed for Microsoft Windows by Relic Entertainment and Shanda. The game is to be released in China by fiscal 2010. Company of Heroes Online is going to be a completely persistent Company of Heroes campaign. MAN2 is an online strategy game based on original Secret Allies concept, where rivals struggle for global domination in a fascinating sci-fi environment. It is simple to understand, yet difficult to conquer, and most importantly, it is very addictive.

Massive Assault Network 2 is turn-based. However, it uses cutting edge 3D technology, which makes it look like RTS. Plus, the engine allows you to move a couple of units in a close sequence so that visually they move and shoot simultaneously producing RTS-style visual effects.

Massive Assault Network 2 features 3 various set of units that player can employ during the battle: Demo, Standard and Extended. Playing with various unit sets is the unique feature of M.A.N. 2 which has not been met in previous games.

Demo unit set has just basic land units and bombers, totaling 10 units for each playable side. The Standard unit set is the one many of you have seen in Domination. It features 18 units with 3 unique units for the each side. Finally, the Extended unit set has 21 units where 3 unique units from the Standard unit set are balanced with the same units from the opposing side.

Players with lifetime subscription are able to employ any of 3 various sets of units for their battles, while demo players may use just Demo unit set.

The game features ground units (including guard towers), naval units (including carriers), aviation and transports (land, air and naval).

Neveron is a free MMOG, based on BattleTech. Its most prominent feature is its rapid and sometimes unpredictable changeability.

With Neveron, the basics are that players build a futuristic empire set loosely in the BattleTech universe. Cities are populated with industrial plants and R&D centers. Players train and control an army of BattleMechs, tanks, and infantry to fight enemies. With time and experience, players have options to research new technologies including basic assault rifles, components of the largest weapons, vehicles and eventually, 'Mechs. Once blueprints are drawn up, players can tool production facilities and begin churning out weapons of war for themselves and allies.

However, to survive in the game, the player must learn to fight and win. To excel, players must learn to navigate a political labyrinth of alliances and deception.

Hundreds of people play Neveron, representing dozens of interests, objectives and goals. The aim of the game is for players to find their own interests, objectives, and goals, and further them.

Neveron uses modified tech level 1, modifications include:

The Ardennes Offensive 2 is an operational level PC computer game of the Battle of the Bulge.
Ardennes Offensive lets you take command of the last German offensive in the West. On December 16th, 1944, the Wehrmacht launched a furious surprise attack against American forces in the Ardennes. As overcast skies grounded Allied air cover, 24 German divisions hammered at the Americans along a 60-mile-wide front, driving 45 miles deep into the American lines. You can play any of eight scenarios, ranging from a full tutorial to the complete Bulge campaign. Ardennes Offensive utilizes SSG's reknowned A.I. with three levels of difficulty.

Clonk Endeavour is the sequel to Clonk Planet and predecessor to the newer Clonk Rage in the series of 2D Clonk games.

City Empires is a free web based city/empire simulator.

The year was 2016 when modern civilization was destroyed. The war that was begun by politicians was finished by thousands of mushroom clouds. Sim Junta is actually a test version of a commercial game for a series of coffee break strategy games that icehole wanted to develop. The game was never developed in his commercial version cause we didn't have the necessary resources at the time. But since it was very fun to play we decided to release it as a freeware.

Sim Junta is a humorous but very deep strategy game like all of our projects. "

RSG is pleased to release a computer edition of the Kriegspiel. -ENGINE Modify everythingXML definitions. Every single unit, building, upgrade, faction, resource and all their properties and commands are defined in XML files. Just by creating or modifying the right folder structure and a bunch of XML files, the game can be completely modded, and entire new factions or tech trees can be created.
-G3D models. Glest uses its own 3D format for unit models and animations. We provide a plugin to export from 3DSMax, but tools for Blender are also available.
-Map editor. A simple and easy to use map editor is also available to the public.

TechnologyStandard C++. All the code is standard C++, and has been written with portability in mind, so it can be compiled using either GCC or VS.NET.
OpenGL. Glest uses the cross platform OpenGL API to render 3D graphics. It uses the fixed pipeline, so only version 1.3 and a few extensions are required.
DirectSound/OpenAL. The game can play static and streaming sounds using ogg and wav files.
A.I. Human players can test their skills against challenging AI controlled opponnents. Glest uses the A* pathfinding algorithm and other well known AI techniques.

Enemy Flag is a multiplayer, strategic game. Matches are settled on two-dimensional maps. The goal is to develop and to defend our land.
We have at disposal a couple of economic, defensive and of course offensive structures. Our goal is to destroy enemy's main building, which is the Town Hall and to defend our own. In reliance on amount and territory we achieve superiority over enemies. We also have to care about access to gold, which allow us to raise next buildings.
Game is mainly geared towards multiplayer matches through the internet. Because of built-in server list, we can simply join one of the current matches. Enemy Flag let us play up to 16 players at the same time and 10 observers. We can also fight in teams, which much raise the efficiency of competition. For "lonely hunters" we also placed singleplayer mode with computer opponents.

Warzone 2010 is a 3D RTS game developed by Pumpkin Studios and published by Eidos Interactive in 1999 for both PC and PlayStation. A fan group called Pumpkin-2 managed to petition Eidos, the legal owner of the source, to make Warzone open-source. Now the game is being developed with lots of features added, such as increased multiplayer unit-limit, support for Glide, several compatibility fixes for Windows XP, and most recently, the introduction of static shadows.
Available for Windows and Linux.

Wildfire Games (WFG) is in the process of developing a freeware game. The name of this project is 0 A.D. ("zero ey-dee"), a historically based Real Time Strategy game focusing on the years 500 B.C. to 500 A.D. The game will be released in two parts: the first exploring B.C. and the second A.D.

C-evo is a freeware empire building game for Windows.
With a time scope of several thousand years, it covers aspects of exploration and expansion, industry and agriculture, warfare and diplomacy, science and administration. C-evo follows the spirit of popular turn-based strategy games from the mid 90s, but with more emphasis on powerful AI and careful design of the rules, resulting in a true challenge.
The game is based on Microprose's famous Sid Meier's Civilization and has many basic ideas in common with it.

Wormux is an open play source inspired by the famous Worms series developed by the Team17 studios. Many maps and several very funny characters in a cartoonish style (Firefox, Pink Floyd, Alien, etc). DreamChess is an open source chess game. Our primary target platforms are Linux, Windows, Dreamcast and BeOS. DreamChess features 3D OpenGL graphics and provides various chess board sets, ranging from classic wooden to flat figurines.
A moderately strong chess engine is included: Dreamer. However, should this engine be too weak for you, then you can use any other XBoard-compatible chess engine, including the popular Crafty and GNU Chess. Other features include on-screen move lists using SAN notation, undo functionality, and savegames in PGN format.
In future releases we plan to add support for time controls, audio, network play, more visual effects such as reflections and shadows, and 3D animated pieces.
