For the 15th Anniversary of Serious Sam Croteam released source code for Serious Engine v1.10! It’s the very same engine used for Serious Sam Classic: The First Encounter and The Second Encounter. Serious Engine v1.10 won’t produce top-notch graphics, but the source code is very well commented, easy to modify, and there are lots of user generated mods out there. This version has everything you need to build your own game – or just experiment. A Linux source code release is in the works too.
The Free-to-Play (F2P) version of Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter’s versus modes and survival has been released! Now, anyone can enjoy HD TSE versus modes, such as deathmatch, Last Man Standing, Insta-Kill and Capture the Flag, along with being able to play survival mode to get a taste for Serious Sam HD’s single player mode. Plus, people that have the F2P version of SSHD can play versus and survival with those that have the complete version!
* Single-Player Level – Get a taste of the intense action by battling through a specially designed demo level set in sunny Karnak with redesigned gameplay and changed-up enemy positions for unique battles. This demo level is so big it could take hours to get through each of the difficulty levels!
* Cooperative Mode – Fight through the Karnak demo level with up to 16 players and finally get a chance to see classic Serious Sam coop in all its visual glory!
* Deathmatch Mode – Step back into the glory days of frantic deathmatch in the visually upgraded Desert Temple map.
