Set in a futuristic cartoon-like world where rocketlauncher-wielding pigs and lasergun-carrying cyberpunks roam the streets, Warsow is a completely free fast-paced first-person shooter (FPS) for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

Speed and movement, that's what Warsow is all about. Like a true cyberathlete you jump, dash, dodge and walljump your way through the game. Grab those power-ups before your enemy does, plant the bomb before anyone sees you, and steal the enemy's flag before anyone knows what's going on!

The 1935 build of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. from 2004, officially released by GSC Game World. Unpack, then run the auto-extractor.
This is a build from 2004 which utilised a completely different physics engine than the one used in the final retail version. This build is fully playable and contains all of the original levels as well as those that were cut such as Dead City, Swamp and Generators. This version is not so much a demo or mod, but more of an insight into the game's development. Curious fans of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. will find this both fascinating and intriguing although may wonder why some elements were removed from the retail release. GSC Game World have issued a disclaimer where they cannot guarantee stability, so bugs and crashes will occur. They have also said that they will not provide technical assistance.

In the zip there is included a file ( profile_vis_fix.rar ) to improve visual quality.


Installation instructions

1. Download and extract files to a folder
2. Delete the 'savedgames' folder
3. Run the game with run_alife_s.bat

Nexuiz has been in development for close to 5 years by a team of amateur developers lead by Lee Vermeulen. It is a 3d deathmatch game made entirely over the internet. The purpose of the game is to bring deathmatch back to the basics, with perfect weapon balancing and fast paced action, keeping itself away from the current trend of realistic shooters. It uses HFX textures by Evil Lair, and currently has 17 maps to frag in. With an advanced UI, the user can select between 15 different player models to use, with an average of two skins for each, and can connect to our master server to play people from all over the world.

This is a community map pack compiled by Strahlemann. It includes 35 maps, and a campaign mode for the user to fight through. The map pack includes Quake3 communtiy maps, Nexuiz community maps, and some new maps from Nexuiz developers. Credit is given for all of the authors. To install it just unzip the file into your main Nexuiz directory.

The player controls Torque, a man who has been sent to the fictional Abbott State Penitentiary on Carnate Island, Maryland. Torque has been convicted and sentenced to death for murdering his wife and two children, although he claims to have blacked out at the time this happened and cannot remember anything. The night Torque arrives, there is a powerful earthquake, which releases an army of monsters upon the facility. Torque's cell door breaks and he is freed from his captivity. In the year 2284, after many years of a war between the Terran forces and the forces of former Eath colony Mendel, the United Terran Forces have plans to invade Mendel and has chosen the previously uncolonized world Epsilon Eridani F to be their staging base. The super Battlecruiser Atlas was sent to the region to construct spaceport facilities, but was seized by a deadly weapon. The marines have been called back to save the ship, but the infection is becoming more entrenched. The final dropship has been sent, carrying a group of 5 battle hardened space marines.

Derelict is a first person shooter and a tactical action game inspired by Space Hulk: Vengeance of the Blood Angels. The player controls a group of 5 space marines in two ways: directly in first person view (with the keyboard and mouse) or by giving them orders via map view (primarily with the mouse). Each marine has its own skills and abilities:
-Communications: the communications specialist can see enemies in the map screen.
-Heavy Assault: carries a belt fed Gatlin Cannon which doesn't need to be reloaded.
-Demolition: the demolition expert carries a modified rifle with a grenade launcher attached, which power can rip apart obstacles and temporarily disrupt teleportation systems.
-Engineer: carries automated tools to repair doors and can hack security system faster than the other marines.
-Medic: can heal the other team members and has a hazard suit which allows him to walk through dangerous areas.
The player can switch among the marines any time by pressing the proper hot keys or using the mouse wheel. While controlling a marine, the others will be AI controlled.

The game has a total of 20 levels and five difficulty ranks, from Private to General, and the harder the rank, the more frequently enemies respawn, the quicker they move and the slower the medic heals.

Celestial Impact is a team based multiplayer first person shooter (FPS) for PC taking place on various asteroids floating in space. But Celestial Impact is not your average team based multiplayer FPS. Celestial Impact differs from other multiplayer FPS in that the whole landscape is destructible in any direction, each impact on the landscape affecting it differently depending on the weapon used. But it is not limited to destruction; the players will also have the ability to add terrain to the landscape in the middle of combat using a special tool. So as the teams are battling, the landscape receives vast changes opening up for various tactical approaches each team can use.
Each landscape (map) is a sphere-like asteroid with gravity pointing towards the center of the asteroid. This means that players can take round trips around the asteroid assaulting the enemy from any direction. Since the landscape is fully destructible, players could even approach from underneath by digging tunnels through the asteroid.

Voxelstein 3D is an FPS game inspired by Wolfenstein 3D. The game uses Ken Silverman's VOXLAP engine to render voxels in software. The levels in the game are fully destructible - and by fully we mean fully.

The game world is built from tiny cubes called voxels. There are over 37 million in the first level. Rendering a world like this is slow (especially without hardware acceleration), but there is an advantage: voxels can be added, removed or otherwise altered very very quickly. This enables all kinds of cool stuff, including fully destructible worlds!

Daikatana Deathmatch is a non-profit, fan made multiplayer modification of Daikatana, and assumes that the downloader already owns a LEGITIMATE FULL VERSION of the game. However, DKDM is modified in such a way where single-player maps and music CANNOT be played without files which are only accessible with a full copy of Daikatana. Another Bound is a Japanese freeware FPS. Use the W, A, S and D keys to control your suited protagonist. Hold the left mouse button to shoot, and press the space key to jump. Tap the F1 function key to display the location map.Recharge stations also double as save points, easily spotted by it's green glow.

The object of the game is to build a castle, collect mana, and destroy your enemies. To build a castle, select a location, look at the ground, and cast the build spell. Note, you cannot build castles very close to water or other castles. Your castle starts out small, with only one turret. As more mana is added to your castle, it will gain more turrets. Each turret adds another crane to your castle's defense and another spell to your arsenal. Basically, the game consists of fighting for control of mana. Whenever you encounter another wizard, shoot them with fireballs. If you hit them enough, they will "die" and be sent back to their castle. You are then free to claim all the mana in the area for yourself. Once all the mana has been claimed, attack your enemy's castle to get mana out of it so you can claim it for yourself. Once you enemy's castle is out of mana, you can eliminate it by killing it's heart. When all of your opponents have been banished, you've won.

Celestial Impact differs from other multiplayer FPS in that the whole landscape is destructible in any direction, each impact on the landscape affecting it differently depending on the weapon used. But it is not limited to destruction; the players will also have the ability to add terrain to the landscape in the middle of combat using a special tool. So as the teams are battling, the landscape receives vast changes opening up for various tactical approaches each team can use.
Each landscape (map) is a sphere-like asteroid with gravity pointing towards the center of the asteroid. This means that players can take round trips around the asteroid assaulting the enemy from any direction. Since the landscape is fully destructible, players could even approach from underneath by digging tunnels through the asteroid.

This music pack is from Mighty Pete. Unzip and drop the inclosed file wop_carnage.pk3 into your wop directory:
\World of Padman\wop\ When in the game the new music menu will show up when you hit Exc or "m" key. Pick the songs you want to play then hit Esc or "M" again.

Alien Arena 2007 6.05, it's open sourced free online deathmatch game featuring a retro sci-fi theme!
Version 6.05 also brings one of the more unique team based game modes - "Cattle Prod" to gamers. This new mode signifies what Alien Arena is all about - and that is moving forward into new areas of gameplay. While still retaining it's Quake/Unreal Tournament roots, Alien Arena's goal is to have a unique style all it's own, and Cattle Prod is the latest foray into team oriented gameplay that now includes things from your standard CTF fare, to blasting metal spiders in Team Core Assault, flying rickety old spaceships in All Out Assault, and playing a form of alien "soccer" in Team Deathball. Among the other new gameplay features for 6.05 is a class based mutator, which gives characters of different types(alien, robot, human) various capabilities.

Second Extinction is a third person action game. In this game you ride on dinosaurs and shoot the opposing teams in order to take control of as much regions as possible. Choose from two races, the wise and technologically advanced humans or the brutal and destructive Cobos. Then choose a dinosaur, different dinosaurs gives you different abilities and weapons. Everything is played out in a huge warfaring tropical environment with heavy sound effects that gives you the gory feeling of war.

Nexuiz has been in development for close to 5 years by a team of amateur developers lead by Lee Vermeulen. It is a 3d deathmatch game made entirely over the internet. The purpose of the game is to bring deathmatch back to the basics, with perfect weapon balancing and fast paced action, keeping itself away from the current trend of realistic shooters. It uses HFX textures by Evil Lair, and currently has 17 maps to frag in. Originally released in 1996 by Austrailian based Team Fortress Software, TF has been downloaded by millions of people as it has evolved and become one of the most popular online action games of all time.
This version should be stand-alone (does not require hl 1), i remember back in those days i had great fun playing this very good mod, now as most of you will know valve is about to pubblish a remake (Team Fortress 2). Haven't tried this for myself, so if u happen to try this, let me know if it's good or bad.

Western Quake 3 started as a mod for Quake 3, now thanks to the stand alone project and (of course) the release of the Quake3 Engine source, it is possible to play it as a stand-alone full game (does not require the q3 game).
Probably (but not sure) sometime in the future th team behind this mod will release a full-standalone package, for now u need this program to run this mod as a standalone. LINK
