g4u ("ghost for unix") is a NetBSD-based bootfloppy/CD-ROM that allows easy cloning of PC harddisks to deploy a common setup on a number of PCs using FTP. The floppy/CD offers two functions. The first is to upload the compressed image of a local harddisk to a FTP server, the other is to restore that image via FTP, uncompress it and write it back to disk. Network configuration is fetched via DHCP. As the harddisk is processed as an image, any filesystem and operating system can be deployed using g4u. Easy cloning of local disks as well as partitions is also supported.

g4u ("ghost for unix") un potentissimo programma che permette di clonare i vostri hd in copia diretta o di uploadare l'immagine su un server ftp. Basato su FreeBSD (Unix) questo programma e' su un cd bootabile. Un'ottima alternativa se non volete spendere i soldi per norton ghost.

The program is capable of monitoring negative temperatures, includes the NextSensor Remote Monitor function that allows to remotely monitor voltage, temperature and fan speed parameters. The current version supports many popular Winbond, Fintek and ITE Super I/O LPC chips.

Google non finira' mai di stupirmi. Per puro caso ho scoperto questo bellissimo programma di messaggistica istantanea. Google Talk e' ancora in versione beta, ma di versione non definitiva ha ben poco. In pochi secondi avrete un programma tipo Messanger di Microsoft, ma molto leggero senza pubblicita' e con lo stile di Google. Testandolo con un mio amico siamo riusciti a fare la chat vocale in 2 secondi. Necessita di un account gmail per usarlo.
