A metroidvania indie game. Project Adventure Game “The Cycle of the Cave” is inspired by some 8-bit and 16-bit classics such as The Maze of Galious, Castlevania Symphony of the Night and the like. PAG is an action and exploration single player game with 2D graphics, in which you’ll have to enter in the depths of a cave divided in several zones to unveil its hidden secrets and succeed in all its challenges in order to finally reach the final battle.

The NESJam is a video game development JAM where developers will spend a week and develop a game based around the theme of Nintendo Entertainment System. NESJam 1 was held December 1st – December 10th 2013. Here is a gamepack containing 6 of the 7 games submitted by the partecipants.

Developed by Midway – San Diego, Doom 64 is a unofficial sequel to Doom II developed for the Nintendo 64 and was released in March ’97. Based on the Jaguar and Playstation code base, Doom 64 is considered the most technically advanced Doom game of its time. In addition to the completely revamped rendering engine, Doom 64 went through numerous changes and improvements from that of Doom II. No graphics or sounds from Doom II have been reused in Doom 64; instead, it features completely new sprites, textures, levels and sounds and features a completely different art style.

Heroine’s Quest: The Herald of Ragnarok is an adventure / RPG hybrid. Like in many adventure games, you have a world to save, and must use your wit, guile and inventory to puzzle your way through. Like in many roleplaying games, you can customize your character with various classes and skills, and must train yourself in combat to stand a chance against the fierce monsters in your way. The game is designed in the spirit and atmosphere of the classics, and strives to have the same high quality of art, music, and plot. With multiple character classes and several solutions to many puzzles, the game will have excellent replayability.

Forge is a fan-made sequel to Loom, LucasArts’ 1990 adventure-game masterpiece. Loom was supposed to have been followed by two additional stories, each following a different protagonist; but these games were never made. Tidbits of their plots can be found online, but these are the only glimpses we have into what those games might have been. Feeling that Loom deserved continuation, this developers have chosen to carry on the story in the same vintage pixel-art style of the early 1990s.
