The Dobbs Challenge (c++ source code)

A source code to use with visual studio 2008(a trial of this compiler from microsoft is available to download).
There is a mod contest on this that ends on 14 april 2008.
Full source code and art for the games are freely provided for programmers to ‘mod’ the results and win prizes.By my point of view this is a good chance to learn something on the 2D development of the mobile devices too.

– Fixed slow building placement in ATI cards with catalyst 7.10 or newer
– Fixed fog of war smoothing
– Improved position picking when giving orders
– Fixed some glitches in shadows
– Added red colored building cursor when trying to build in an invalid location
– Fix for empty chat messages
– Reduced Drake Rider morphing time from 120 to 80 and reduced splash radius attack of a few units
– Improved battlemachine death animation
– The game now checks that all players are using the same binaries

This is a program who can decompile the games made with beautiful tool named Gamemaker. It converts an .exe in an editable file, good or bad? Well the good point is that people can learn from others, or you can recover lost source code, the bad side is that some1 could ‘steal’ your work. Didn ‘t tried this program myself so i can ‘t say if it really works, use this at your own risk.

Demoniak3D uses a clever mixture of XML, LUA scripting and GLSL (OpenGL Shading Language). Demoniak3D’s 3D engine uses OpenGL for hardware graphics acceleration.
