Donald Dowell and the Ghost of Barker Manor

Donald Dowell is a funny 80-year-old man who’s recently retired. His life is apparently peaceful, except for his unbearable wife. Nevertheless, Donald starts feeling empty and suffering from the so-called retiree syndrome. He’s bored to death and decides that the only solution to his problem is to start working again. After wandering several hours about the town and being refused and mocked by several potential employers, he is struck by a peculiar epiphany: he is to become a GHOSTBUSTER! Donald tries to be hired as Bob Delano’s assistant – the most famous paranormal detective in Ireland; unfortunately, since Delano is temporarily stuck at Barker Manor, Donald will have to go there to find his boss and to investigate on the strange phenomena going on there.

Heroine’s Quest: The Herald of Ragnarok

Heroine’s Quest: The Herald of Ragnarok is an adventure / RPG hybrid. Like in many adventure games, you have a world to save, and must use your wit, guile and inventory to puzzle your way through. Like in many roleplaying games, you can customize your character with various classes and skills, and must train yourself in combat to stand a chance against the fierce monsters in your way. The game is designed in the spirit and atmosphere of the classics, and strives to have the same high quality of art, music, and plot. With multiple character classes and several solutions to many puzzles, the game will have excellent replayability.

Internet Archive puts classic 70s and 80s games online

In an expansion of the Historical Software Collection, the Internet Archive has opened the Console Living Room, a collection of console video games from the 1970s and 1980s. The games can be played directly in the browser! At the moment without sound.

Forge: Chapter One – Loom Unofficial Sequel

Forge is a fan-made sequel to Loom, LucasArts’ 1990 adventure-game masterpiece. Loom was supposed to have been followed by two additional stories, each following a different protagonist; but these games were never made. Tidbits of their plots can be found online, but these are the only glimpses we have into what those games might have been. Feeling that Loom deserved continuation, this developers have chosen to carry on the story in the same vintage pixel-art style of the early 1990s.

Originally intended for release in the early 90s, Putty Squad features old-skool gameplay and frenetic action that showcases the creativity the Amiga platform was renowned for, in it’s unique and unaltered glory. The Bum

This classic FREE point & click adventure game tells a story of a homeless man who communicates with the world using an old sock on his right hand. He’s a huge football fan and plays it a lot near his backalley. One day he gets mugged by a wandering bully and looses his precious ball in the process. Now he must pull himself together, team up with a local superhero, find a new ball and confront his oppressor again.
